I am currently completing my Honours in Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Philippe Chouinard. This year we will be examining whether size constancy mechanisms can explain the perceptual distortion elicited by the Poggendorff Illusion. It is hoped that uncovering the properties underlying this illusion will aid in understanding the processes involved in formulating a stable representation of our visual world. The brains ability to create an experience of visual reality from incoming stimuli has always been an area of personal interest, thus having the opportunity to study aspects of this phenomena in such a manner feels immensely rewarding.
