I am currently completing my Master of Clinical Neuropsychology and will soon commence a PhD under the supervision of Dr Philippe Chouinard. My interests lie in the neurobiological mechanisms that underlie visual perception and consciousness. In particular, my research will examine how the brain detects and responds to threatening stimuli such as snakes and spiders and whether this response is independent of conscious awareness. With this research, I hope to contribute to our understanding of the underlying cognitive and neural mechanisms of threat processing, which in the long term will help drive novel strategies for managing and treating individuals with specific phobia.
