My Honours project this year will focus on the role that acute stress can play in manipulating the perception of visual illusions. Specifically, my research will revolve around using a variety of sounds to invoke a sense of acute stress while measuring the degree of perceived misalignment in the Poggendorff illusion. Hopefully, these findings will elucidate the role that stress plays in our perception of the world and create space for clinical intervention in this field.
